A mixed-use urban development project in Bolzano, introducing two new buildings that reinterpret the historic and architectural context.
The design addresses two distinct spatial conditions—a compact urban frontage and a more open, garden-oriented typology—establishing a balanced dialogue with the surrounding heritage, including the historic Hotel Laurin and the former Hotel Bristol.
The mixed-use program integrates retail, offices, housing, and cultural spaces, transforming the area into an active and accessible urban destination. Public permeability is enhanced through new pedestrian connections, open spaces, and a ground-floor system oriented toward interaction and civic life.
The architectural composition is shaped to optimise natural light, frame views toward the city and the Rosengarten mountain range, and strengthen the relationship between interior and exterior spaces. A rooftop pavilion offers 360-degree panoramic views, becoming a shared and recognisable place within the renewed urban fabric.
