Bringing back the past, another way of looking into the future.

Tradition is not a limitation but a foundation for radical evolution. Inspired by vernacular architecture and history, we reinterpret regional building cultures and craftsmanship through a contemporary lens by bridging heritage with innovation.

We believe that architecture is a reflection of its time and culture. By understanding context and reinterpreting it through a contemporary approach, we aim to create spaces that resonate with their surroundings and contribute to a meaningful built environment. Our work aspires to balance heritage and modernity, crafting environments that inspire, endure, and connect people to place.

Our approach is rooted in a hands-on design process where ideas are tested, refined, and developed through both physical and digital tools. Study models, sketches, and material experiments allow us to explore space, light, and form before translating concepts into precise architectural solutions. Technology and craftsmanship work side by side, supporting a methodology that values clarity, material presence, and a strong relationship to place.

Inside the Studio

Our team is a collective of architects and designers from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Curiosity, commitment, and collaboration shape our daily work and form the foundation of every project.

At the heart of our studio is collaboration. A continuous exchange shaped by dialogue across disciplines and cultures. Working internationally, we approach every project with shared responsibility, transforming complex challenges into clear, coherent architectural solutions built on precision, dedication, and collective knowledge.

Peter Pichler Architecture was founded in Milan in 2015 as an independent architecture studio working internationally across a wide range of architectural projects.

We established the practice with the idea of approaching architecture as a continuous process of research, dialogue, and refinement — a design laboratory where ideas evolve through collaboration and attention to detail. Working at different scales, we develop projects ranging from small, context-specific interventions to complex, large-scale developments.

Our Milan studio is located in a renovated historic building, where original spatial elements such as arches and double-height volumes have been preserved and integrated into a contemporary working environment. The studio space reflects our open and collaborative culture, encouraging daily exchange across disciplines and project teams.

Today, we collaborate internationally with clients, consultants, and local partners across Europe and beyond, continuing to grow a practice grounded in architectural clarity, contextual awareness, and a strong collective spirit.
